Jericho Baseball information in light of COVID-19

Updated: Apr 26

Dear Jericho Baseball parents and players,

As promised in our prior message, we want to share the latest about the coronavirus situation and its impact on our upcoming season.

Little League Canada and Little League International have updated their guidance regarding the temporary suspension of league activities, extending the suspension to at least May 11. Our priorities at Jericho are to ensure the health and safety of all participants and our community, and we will follow all applicable guidance. This means that all league activities that may involve the gathering of individuals for games, practices, events, or meetings (such as the coaches’ meeting scheduled for March 29) are postponed until further notice.

Here is the official letter to players and families from BC Little League District 1. In the letter the district says: "We anticipate the earliest data of an announcement will be June 1."

Jericho’s Board and volunteers are continuing to work on pre-season preparations within the current guidelines, in an effort to ensure that if the situation improves, and we receive guidance that we can proceed, our season can begin as quickly as possible. We are also investigating various scenarios for the season reflecting the delayed start. Whatever we do will rely on guidance from local and national health officials.

We will continue to provide timely updates as more information becomes available. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this challenging period for our city, our country, and the global community.
