Skills Training

Jericho Baseball offers various optional in-season and off-season skill training sessions to assist with players at all levels and ages development.   Registration details, costs and exact timing will be circulated to all eligible players.

In-Season Training

In addition to a player's regular season practices and games, Jericho Baseball provides the following optional training opportunities during the season from April through June.

  1. Majors In-Season Development Groups

The Majors In-Season Development Groups are designed to provide extra training and competition for kids who are keen on baseball and to help prepare them for tournament team play by participating in a weekly training session and a game versus other Little League organizations throughout the Lower Mainland. Based on the pre-season assessment, 18 to 20 players for each age group will receive an “invitation”. This will ensure players of similar skills level are playing with and against each other. The sessions will be supported by third party expert instructors and Jericho volunteer coaches.

Three groups will be formed (i) a 11 / 12 age group; (ii) 10 age group and (iii) 9 age group. The program will run from April 12 to June 2. All practices will be at Carnarvon Park at the following times:

  • 9 age group = Sunday 11:30am – 2pm

  • 10 age group = Friday 4pm – 6:15pm

  • 11 / 12 age group = Sunday 9am – 12pm

Games will be scheduled for Sunday evening and 11 person rosters will picked for each game based on availability and ensuring equal game opportunity for each player.  Given the larger roster size 100% commitment is not required.   Participation is not a requirement for selection to the summer all-star teams, nor is participation a guarantee for selection for the Summer all-star teams.
